Size is a key way to describe a pet. Recording it keeps your system accurate and helps staff quickly understand handling, grooming, and care needs.
A pet’s size also directly influences grooming prices and appointment durations — larger pets generally require longer sessions and higher pricing, while smaller pets need shorter, lighter‑duty grooms.
Size can also be linked to each pet’s breed, as many breeds naturally fall into predictable size ranges, supporting more accurate records and service planning.
Using standard size categories ensures everyone classifies pets consistently, avoiding unclear or subjective terms that can lead to confusion.
