When you add new pets to Pet Manager, you can choose which fields need to be filled in before the pet can be saved. This means you can make sure your team always collects the important details your facility relies on. Setting required fields helps keep your records complete and ensures nothing important gets missed when new pets are added.

To manage your Animal Settings go to Settings > Animals & Breeds
Then navigate to Animal Settings in the left side menu.
General
Pet Dob - When enabled, the pet’s date of birth is displayed. When disabled, the pet’s age is shown instead.

Pet Worming - Enables a worming information field on the pet’s profile. When disabled, this field is hidden during profile creation and editing.
Require Pet Assessment - Enforces the rule that a pet must have an assessment booking, using the specified Item Type, before any subsequent bookings are permitted.
Vaccinations
Vaccination Auto Expire - Automatically archives vaccinations when their expiry date has passed. When disabled, expired vaccinations remain visible until manually archived.

Vaccination Require Description - Enable this option to require a description whenever the vaccination type OTHER is selected. If left off, OTHER can be chosen without needing to add extra details.
Vaccination Require Vet - Enforces the requirement to record a vet when entering a vaccination on the pet’s profile. When disabled, the vet field is optional
Size
Pet Require Size - When enabled enforces the requirement to record the pet’s size when creating or editing their profile
Pet Animal Breed Size - When enabled, the system automatically assigns the pet’s size based on the selected breed.
Pet Animal Breed Size Force - Enforces automatic size assignment from the selected breed. When enabled, the size field becomes read‑only and cannot be edited manually.
