Colour is one of the most recognisable ways to describe a pet. By capturing colour information, your system becomes more accurate, and inline with identification practices. Colours help staff quickly distinguish pets, support grooming and care decisions, and ensure records remain clear and reliable.
Using a predefined list of colours ensures everyone describes pets the same way. This avoids variations like “tan” vs “light brown” or “ginger” vs “orange,” which can cause confusion or inconsistent data.
