Adding Custom Fields
You can add a new Custom Field with the button to the top-right of list.
Label - Use this field to write the question or prompt that will appear to users when you need to gather specific information.
Field Type - This sets the way the user will provide their response (e.g., Text, Textarea, or Select).
-
Text - Creates a single open text field for users to type in the information you’re asking for.
-
Textarea - Creates an expandable text field that allows users to provide fuller, more detailed information when needed.
- Select - Creates a dropdown field where users can select one option from a list you’ve provided.

Bypassing Required Fields in the Admin Area
Required fields can be bypassed in the Admin area by turning on the switch called Pet Field Ignore Required. When this is enabled, staff adding pets through the Admin area can continue without completing any custom fields that are marked as required.
Customers using the Customer Portal will still be required to fill in those mandatory fields, so their experience remains unchanged.
Viewing Custom Fields
Completed custom fields will display on the pet’s profile in the admin area and will also be visible to customers when they update their pet’s information in the Customer Portal.
