The Customer Portal provides a range of configuration options designed to manage pet-related information and functionality. Administrators can customise the way customers add new pets and update existing records, ensuring the portal captures the details most relevant to your business. These options may include defining required fields (such as breed, age, or vaccination status), enabling or disabling optional attributes, and creating Custom Pet Questions for collecting additional information. You can also configure how pet profiles are displayed, control which details customers can edit after submission, and align the portal’s data capture with your operational or compliance requirements.

To manage these customizations go to Settings > Customer Portal.
Then navigate to Portal Pets in the left side menu.
Pets
Portal Prevent New Pets - Customers cannot add a new pet to the customer portal. With this setting on, pets would need to be added through the admin.
Portal New Pet Unapproved - New pets will not be approved by default. Approved is a checkbox that appears when editing a pet profile.
This setting works in conjunction with the setting for Portal Auto-Confirm Approved in Settings > Areas & Pens > Area Types. With this setting on, new pets would not have their bookings auto approved but pets that are approved already will. This means you would only need to confirm bookings for new pets.
Portal Size Guide - A Size Guide link appears when adding a new pet, offering helpful descriptions and images for each size. Admins can manage guide content via Settings > Animals & Breeds > Animal Sizes. See full help article
Portal Size Info - Additional text to appear at the top of the size guide such as "Please note the weight requirements".
Vaccinations
Portal Require Vaccination - When a booking request is attempted to be made through the customer portal, all pets included in the booking must have a valid vaccination on file to complete the booking request.
Portal Prompt Multiple Vaccinations - In certain jurisdictions multiple separate vaccinations are required. With this setting on, customers will be asked whether they wish to upload and additional vaccination after adding one.
Pet Fields
Portal Require Pet Dob - Date of birth must be included when adding a pet through the customer portal.
Portal Require Pet Diet - Diet notes must be included when adding a pet through the customer portal.
Portal Require Pet Photo - A photo must be uploaded when adding a pet through the customer portal.
Portal Behaviour Traits - Allow customers to select behaviour traits when adding/editing their pet
Portal In Season - Show the "In Season" field in the customer portal.
Portal Flea Tick - Show the "Flea Tick" field in the customer portal.
Portal Microchip - Show the "Microchip" field in the customer portal.
Portal Require Microchip - Force the customer to add a microchip number when adding their pet through the customer portal.
Wordings
Portal Pet Form Text - Wording to show in the sidebar when customers are adding a new pet through the customer portal.
Portal Vaccination Image Info - Wording to show next to the vaccination image field in the customer portal. By default it states "The vaccination image must show the whole card including pets name and vaccination date."
Once edited press the button bottom right.
Custom Pet Questions
There is also a button in the top right corner for Custom Pet Questions.
Custom Pet Questions -This feature enables administrators to configure supplementary fields within the Pets Profile. Supported response types include short text entries, long text entries, and selections from predefined values
