Step 4 - Syncing Data

After you start the contact sync, you can proceed to sync your data. The data sync will begin automatically as soon as the contact sync has finished

NOTE: You must finish configuring your account codes before you can start syncing data.

When using multi‑site plans and linking each location to a separate business within a single Xero account, you’ll need to enable the connections for each location before starting the sync. You can configure the Xero organisation for each location using the tabs at the very top of the page.

If your locations operate as one organisation and you haven’t created separate businesses in Xero, you can continue with the sync options below. No additional configuration is required, as all locations will sync to the same Xero organisation.

Select the date you want the sync to begin from. 

For example, if you want to sync all invoices and payments from February 2024, select 01/02/2024 as your start date. Pet Manager will back‑sync all data from that date onwards.

You can also choose a future date if needed. In this case, the data sync will not begin until that date is reached. Once a sync date has passed and data has been synced, the sync cannot be undone.

The invoice date (for invoices and credit notes) or the paid date (for payments) is used to decide which records fall within your selected sync period. Only items with dates on or after your chosen start date will be included in the sync.

If you have already entered invoices or payments manually for a financial period, back‑syncing may create duplicate records in Xero. This process cannot be reversed, so it’s important to choose your start date carefully before beginning the sync.

When you’re ready, select The sync will run in the background, and you can continue using Pet Manager as normal. All future entries you create in Pet Manager will be sent to Xero automatically, with no additional action required.
