Once the Xero add‑on is enabled, to view and manage your integration settings go to Settings > Integrations
You will be taken to the integrations page where the Xero tile is shown, with the status now as
The left menu will now include a Xero section, which becomes visible once the add‑on is active.
To begin the configuration, click either the Xero tile or the Xero option in the left‑hand menu.
Setting Up Prefixes
The first message you may see is a warning advising you to set up unique prefixes before connecting Pet Manager to Xero. If you already use Xero, we strongly recommend completing this step to prevent any existing Xero data from conflicting with Pet Manager and causing sync issues.
Click the prefixes link to setup your prefixes.
These prefixes will be placed in front of each item’s ID number so that every item has its own unique identifier, for example invoices INV121.
| Note: We recommend utilising the default prefixes where possible. Please avoid long Prefixes as they are also shown within Pet Manager. |
If you change a prefix in the future, any existing data will not update to the new prefix, so it is best to get this set prior to syncing. If you wish to change existing prefixes please contact us for assistance.
Once completed
You will then need to navigate back to the Integration settings to continue.
Connecting to Xero
Select Connect to Xero to be taken to the Xero website and complete the integration.
If you already have a Xero account, you can log in here. Otherwise, you can create a new account, just keep in mind that the integration requires the Standard (Grow) plan or above.
Multiple Locations
For resorts operating across multiple locations, each site is displayed as an individual tab. This enables you to link each location to a separate business within a single Xero account by setting up each site as its own organisation. You can then manage multiple entities under one login while keeping financial data, branding, and user permissions separate
| IMPORTANT: If your multiple locations operate as a single organisation, then you do not need to create separate businesses in Xero. In this case, you should simply use the Default option, which keeps all locations mapped to the same Xero entity. |
Once you are logged in and have chosen the relevant organisation, you will be prompted to allow access from Pet Manager to Xero.
Select the blue Allow Access button. You will then be taken back to Pet Manager to complete the account linking and synchronisation setup.
