How do I Utilise the Pet Journal?

Journal Entries are Notes recorded against Booking and Pet records.

The Journal can be used for any type of date/time stamped notes such as Incident Reports or Training/Grooming Outcomes for a particular pet. 

Each journal entry is saved to the Booking and Pet record and can be viewed from the Journal tab on bookings, pets and customers.

All Journal Entries require a Journal Type. New Journal Types are added through Settings.

Journal Types

To Add/Edit or Delete Journal Types go to Settings > Customization

Then click Journal Types in the left column.

You can add a new Journal Type by clicking the Add Journal Type button. You can enter any Journal Types that suit your business.

From here you are provided with a table of the existing Journal Types. You can Edit existing Journal Types by clicking the Edit button next to the relevant entry.

To Delete a Journal Type, click the drop-down next to the edit button and click on Delete.

Add/View/Edit/Delete Journal Entries

You can view the existing Journal entries from the Journal tab on bookings, pets and customers.

Pet

On the View Pet screen you can view existing Journal entries for this pet. You can also add new Journal Entries. You can filter the Journal entries shown by area type and Journal Type.

Press the Add Journal button to add a new Journal Entry. 

From here you can Add a new Journal Entry. The Pet is pre-selected to the current pet. You must select the booking that this Journal Entry applies to. Enter the note you wish to record, Select the Journal Type and select the date and time for the entry. Then Save.

Booking

On the Booking Pet screen you can view the Journal Entries on the Journal Tab.

You can filter the Journal Entries shown by selecting a particular Journal Type.

You can also add, edit or delete Journal Entries as shown above.

Adding a Journal entry on the Booking will have the booking pre-selected. Any pet in this booking can be selected.

Clicking Edit will allow you to change the details of an existing Journal Entry.

Customer

On the customer view you can view all Journal Entries for all pets owned by this customer. You can filter by Journal Type and Pet. 

You can edit and delete existing Journal entries from this screen.
