Booking extras are optional products or services that can be added to enhance or personalise a booking. These are typically offered for an additional fee and are designed to complement the core service.
Examples could include
Products - Treats, extra food, a new lead or flea treatment.
Services - Arranging a taxi service, adding a woodland walk to a daycare booking or including training session for boarding pets.

All extras are grouped by their designated Extra Type. This structure ensures consistency, simplifies selection, and helps users quickly identify the relevant add‑on services. Products - Designed to allocate a quantity on selection. Services - Designed to allocate dates and times. |
To manage your Extra Types, go to Settings > Extras.
Then click Extra Types from the left side menu.
Add Extra Type
To add a new Extra Type click on the button top right.
Name - Defines how the Extra Type will be labelled. This name will be visible to customers when selecting extras on booking.
Parent - Use this field to define a Parent category at the top level. Grouping Extra Types in this way supports clearer structure, consistency, and simpler navigation for all users.
Uses Staff - When selected this setting allows an extra service to be linked to a specific staff member when viewing the reports. The ability to assign staff is determined by the way staff roles and availability have been set up within the system.

Show menu - When selected the Extra Type will be available in various menu's such as reporting and available to include on your Dashboard configuration for quick access. When not selected the Extra Type will be hidden from these reports however still available to select when creating a booking.
Show Rounds - Select this option to make the Extra Type visible during Health Check Rounds. This is useful for tasks such as administering medications or recording additional care actions.
Taxable - Indicates whether the Extra Type is subject to tax when invoiced or will be tax-exempt.
Once edited press the button.
Extra Type Overview Table
After a new Extra Type is created, it appears in the table on the Overview Panel. From here, you can quickly manage its settings, including editing the Name and enabling or disabling options for, Uses Staff, Show Menu, and Taxable
A count is displayed for each Extra Type, showing how many Extras are associated with it. This count also acts as a quick link to view the related Extras.
To change the display order, use the arrows on the far right to drag the Extra Type into position. This order will be reflected when making bookings .
