What is a Marketing List?
A Marketing List is a group of customers you can send targeted email campaigns to. It helps you organise your audience based on specific criteria—such as service type, visit history, or customer preferences.
What You Can Do with a Marketing List:
- Send personalised campaigns to the right group of customers.
- Segment your audience for better engagement and results.
- Avoid sending irrelevant content by targeting based on their booking details.
- Reuse and manage your lists across multiple campaigns.
Example:
Want to promote grooming services? Create a Marketing List with customers who’ve booked grooming in the past, and send them a tailored offer or reminder.
To access Email Templates in Pet Manager, click on Tools in the top menu, then Email Marketing.
From the Intro Dashboard click on 'Marketing Lists'.
This panel displays your saved lists, shows whether they’re active, and gives you the option to deactivate, edit or delete them. Use the search bar in the top-left corner to quickly find a list, and the toggle in the top-right to show inactive lists.
- Title - The name of the marketing list, used to identify its purpose or audience.
- Estimated Customers - The number of customers currently included in the list.
- Active - Indicates whether the list is currently available for use in email campaigns.
- Actions - Options to manage the list - such as view, edit, or delete.
-
Sort - You can sort your list by clicking and dragging items—your cursor will change shape when it's ready to move the item.
If you choose to edit an existing list, the lister builder will open, allowing you to make changes and click Save to update. If you are only wanting to edit the Title name, this can be done from this screen without having to edit the whole template. Simply click on the title name and make your changes, click on the Tick when you have made your changes.
Create a Marketing List
If you’re creating a brand new campaign and feel a new list is needed, simply click ‘Add List’ in the top-right corner of the screen.
This will open the list builder, where you can name and customise your list. From here, you can define filters and set the criteria customers must meet to be included.
- Title - The name of your marketing list, used to identify its purpose or audience segment.
- Customer Type - Filter your list based on the type of customer (e.g. Pensioner, Standard Customers, VIP ) to target relevant groups.
- Portal Access - Specify whether to include customers based on their access to the online customer portal.
When you tick the checkbox for a section, additional filtering options will appear—these must be met for a customer to be included in the list.
It's also helpful to note that selecting the check box for multiple filter areas will narrow down the results further, allowing you to define your audience more precisely.
Example:
You may want to send a promotion only to dog owners with the Affenpinscher breed who have a Boarding booking in 2024.
