Product Categories allow you to structure and organise the retail items you sell in Pet Manager. They also define how the POS main page is laid out, enabling you to group related products into logical sections. This improves navigation, supports faster product selection, and helps maintain a tidy, consistent POS interface for your team.

Product Categories Overview
This page shows the parent Product Categories that have been set up in the system. It allows you to quickly see information at a glance, such as how many products are linked to each type.
Products - Indicates the total number of products linked to the Category, including inactive ones. The count is a live link that opens the Find Product Report.
You can edit the name from the Overview page. Simply click the underlined name or use the Edit button.
| NOTE: If you are using a hierarchical structure with Parent Product Categories, the parent category will always display first. Parent categories do not show the number of products assigned to them. To view the sub‑categories linked to a parent, select the Select Parent option. |
Example:

If you need to delete the Product Category, click the dropdown arrow next to Edit and choose Delete from the menu.
Product Categories that already have products associated cannot be deleted.
Place Handler - This setting lets you control the order in which Product Categories appear on the Add Product Form and on the POS Terminal menu. You can simply use the up and down arrows to drag the items into the position you prefer, ensuring the display order matches how you’d like to see them.
