Product Types

Setting up Product Types allows you to create sub‑categories and clearly define the kinds of products you offer. This can include physical goods sold in-store, as well as service-based packages such as daycare or training courses.

To manage your Product Types go to Settings > Retail

Then navigate to Product Types in the left side menu.

Product Types Overview

This page shows all Product Types that have been set up in the system. It allows you to quickly see information at a glance, such as how many products are linked to each type.

Products -  Indicates the total number of products linked to the type, including inactive ones. The count is a live link that opens the Find Product Report.

You can edit the name from the Overview page. Simply click the underlined name or use the Edit button.

If you need to delete the Product Type, click the dropdown arrow next to Edit and choose Delete from the menu.

Product Types that already have products associated cannot be deleted.

Place Handler -    This setting lets you control the order in which Product Types appear on the Add Product and Add Packages Forms. You can simply use the up and down arrows to drag the items into the position you prefer, ensuring the display order matches how you’d like to see them.

Adding Product Types

You can add a new Product Type with the button to the top-right of list.

Name - Defines the label for the Product Type. This identifier is used system‑wide
