Each Area gives you the flexibility to define its setup by creating Items. You can choose which services to offer, set the activity types that apply, and manage practical details like boarding pen names and capacity. This helps ensure every area is organised and tailored to your businesses needs.

To manage your Items go to Settings > Area & Pens
Then navigate to the specific Area Type in the left side menu. (i.e. Daycare or Boarding)
Items Explained
Keeping in mind that each Area utilises Items in its own way. The behaviour varies based on the feature and how you prefer to manage your bookings.
Examples
| Boarding - Allows you to create and name each individual pen or room and set its capacity. These Items will then be available to select when creating a boarding booking through the booking forms. | |

Daycare - Allows you to name your daycare service and any additional areas, including optional overflow spaces, each with its own capacity settings. Bookings are automatically assigned to the first item on the list, allowing you to set a clear hierarchy for how spaces are filled
In Home - Allows you to create and name different services, enabling you to run multiple visits with individual capacity settings at the same time. The system will allocate bookings to the first available Item.
| For the services listed below, ensure that your Item names are clear and consistent, as these names will be used throughout the setup of your service sessions. |
Training - Allows you to create various rooms/zones to where the training sessions can be held.
Grooming - Allows you to create and name the grooming stations or work areas used for appointments.
Walking - Allows you to create different types of walks or placements (if you use named areas) to be assigned to sessions.
Dog Park - Allows you to create different types of parks to be assigned to sessions.
Hydrotherapy - Allows you to create various zones/pools to where the hydrotherapy sessions can be held.
Items Overview Table
Each Area Type includes an Overview Table that displays all Items configured within that Area. This table provides a clear, at‑a‑glance summary of key details - such as Pet Capacity and the associated Item Type - and also allows you to make edits directly from the same screen.
To make further changes to a Item, click the Edit button to open the full edit view. If you need to delete the Item, click the dropdown arrow next to Edit and choose Delete from the menu.
Items that already have bookings cannot be deleted. They must be made inactive instead.
To view inactive Items, toggle the Show Inactive switch to the on position. This will display all Items that are currently marked as inactive within the Overview list.
Place Handler - This setting lets you control the order in which Items appear on the Scheduler and on the booking form. You can simply use the up and down arrows to drag the items into the position you prefer, ensuring the display order matches how you’d like customers to see them.
Top Tabs - Top Tabs display the different Areas created for each Area Type by pet type and location, allowing you to specify exactly where each Item should be associated.

The Overview page also includes a filter option, enabling a quick and easy search by Item Type.
Adding Items
You can add a new Item with the button to the top-right of the page.
Name - This is the label assigned to an Item . It acts as the identifier used throughout the system. You can edit the name to match your business terminology or preferences, while ensuring it still reflects the intended functionality of the Item.
Area - Select the Area you want this Item to be associated with from the drop‑down menu. The list will display all Areas you have previously created.
Item Type - Select the Item Type you want this Item to be associated with from the drop‑down menu. The list will display all Item Types you have previously created.
Pet Capacity - Sets the room/zoom’s maximum pet limit. Linked services and sessions cannot exceed this capacity.
Scheduler Divider After - When selected, a divider will be added immediately after this Item on the Scheduler.
Active - When enabled, the Item is active and can be selected when adding bookings or creating sessions.
Once you have completed
Adding Bulk Items
You can add a bulk Items by using the button to the top-right of the page.
Prefix - (Name) This is the label assigned to the new Items
Area - Select the Area you want this Item to be associated with from the drop‑down menu.
Item Type - Select the Item Type you want this Item to be associated with from the drop‑down menu.
Amount - Sets how many new Items the system will create
Start - Sets the starting number for the new Items. The system will then name and number each Item sequentially from this point.
Pet Capacity - Sets the room(s) maximum pet limit. Linked services and sessions cannot exceed this capacity.
Multiple Bookings - Determines whether the Item can be booked for pets from multiple families at the same time.
Scheduler Divider After - When selected, a divider will be added immediately after this Item on the Scheduler.
Active - When enabled, the Item is active and can be selected when adding bookings or creating sessions.
Once you have completed
The newly created Items will appear in the Overview table. From there, you can edit each Item individually as needed.
