The Stripe Terminal integration allows real‑time communication between your booking, invoices, and POS system and the physical payment device used for in‑person payments. This ensures that the correct transaction amount is sent directly to the terminal, the payment is automatically recorded against the right booking or customer purchase, and your reconciliation data stays consistent across all systems. It also reduces the risk of mismatched payments, duplicate entries, and manual processing errors.

Please note that this feature requires an active Stripe account connected to Pet Manager, as well as a supported Stripe Terminal hardware device. The compatible devices are the Stripe Reader S700 and the WisePOS E. The WisePad is not supported.
To manage the Stripe Terminal feature, go to Settings > Integrations
Then select the Stripe Terminal tile
or navigate to Stripe Terminal in the left side menu.
Stripe Terminal Settings - Before Connecting
Before initiating the connection with your terminal, it’s important to make sure all the required settings have been configured first. This ensures the terminal can pair correctly and prevents any connection issues during setup.
Step 1 - Connecting to Stripe
If you haven’t already set up the connection between Pet Manager and your Stripe account, please take a moment to read the guide article - Connecting to Stripe Online
Step 2 - Setup Locations
Whether you operate from one location or manage multiple sites, you’ll need to assign a location for each physical place your readers operate, and then you can register as many readers as needed to each one by naming them under labels.
To add locations select the button and the system will generate the location in your Stripe account and then map them to your Pet Manager locations.
If you’re operating with more than one Stripe account, we recommend contacting Support so they can assist with the setup.

Connecting to Your Stripe Terminal
Before continuing, you will need to visit the Terminal section in your Stripe Dashboard to enable this feature.
Step 3 - Setup Terminals
|
Because both Stripe terminals are smart readers, the reader software communicates directly with Stripe. Pet Manager communicates with the reader through either a LAN (using a Terminal SDK) or the internet (using the server-driven integration). When communicating with the readers through the LAN, the readers must connect to the same local network as your Pet Manager application. If your locations are on different networks, make sure to pair the terminal onsite and connect it to the same network as the PC that runs your Pet Manager application. |
To begin pairing your device, select the Add Stripe Terminal button.
This will start the connection process by opening up a dialog box.
Location - Enter the physical location where the terminal will be installed.
Registration Code - Enter the Pairing Code generated on the terminal.
To generate the pairing code on your terminal -
- Access settings - Open the settings menu by swiping right from the left edge of the reader screen. Tap Settings, enter the admin passcode 07139, and you’ll be able to generate a pairing code to register your device.
Label - Enter a unique label for the terminal you’re connecting. This ensures the device can be easily identified when multiple terminals operate at the same location
Once Completed
You should see a confirmation message on the terminal once registration is complete.
Payment Settings
Once your terminals are connected, you’ll need to enable the feature and assign the payment methods.
Stripe Terminal Payment Method - This is the method that is recorded by Pet Manager for all payments made using the Stripe Terminal.. This payment method Stripe has been created by default. You can however set this to whatever method you wish - for example Stripe Terminal
Stripe Terminal Fee Payment Method - This is the method used to record the fees that Stripe takes out of every transaction. You can create your own custom payment method in settings and then allocate that to this if you want to separate out the fees.
Stripe Terminal Surcharge - You can set a surcharge percent if you want to pass the Stripe payment fees onto your customers. This fee will only apply to payments made via the Stripe Terminal. When the payment is made, the fee will be calculated, and a new line item will be created and added to the invoice.
Stripe Enable - Enable this setting to begin accepting Stripe payments.
Once the feature is enabled, the payment option becomes available when selecting Pay on any invoice, across both bookings and the Retail area.
