Tyro is an Australian provider of credit/debit card and EFTPOS payment services. Their terminals allow merchants to take secure in‑store payments at the point of sale.
With Pet Manager’s Tyro integration, payments can be pushed directly to the terminal. Once the customer completes the payment, it’s automatically recorded in Pet Manager and the related invoice is updated instantly.

To enable the Tyro feature, go to Settings > Integrations
Then select the Tyro tile
or navigate to Tyro in the left side menu.
Connecting to your Terminal
| Important: You need to do this from the computer you wish to take payments on, as the connection is local to the computer. You can connect multiple computers to one or more terminals. If you change or replace your computer you will need to reconnect the terminal. |
Expand Step 1 – Connect to Tyro, then click Pair Terminal to begin the connection.
A dialog box will open prompting you to connect to your terminal.
Hover over the device images to reveal the terminal models, then click the one you want to select. The devices shown here come directly from Tyro and represent the terminals available for integration.
Continue by following the on‑screen prompts; these will vary depending on your device.
The status will update to show that Tyro is now paired, allowing you to move on with the setup.
Setup & Enabling Tyro Payments
After the terminal connection is complete, you can continue with the setup and enable Tyro payments.
Tyro Payment Method -This is the method that is recorded by Pet Manager for all payments made via Tyro using credit cards. Typically, this would be set to Credit Card.
Tyro Eftpos Payment Method - This is the method that is recorded by Pet Manager for all payments made via Tyro using EFTPOS. Typically, this would be set to EFTPOS.
Tyro Enable - Enable this setting to begin processing Tyro payments.
Tyro Surcharge - When setting up surcharges in your Tyro account, make sure this option is switched on. If it isn’t, the payment amount sent to Tyro may end up higher than the invoice amount in Pet Manager, which can make reconciliation difficult.
If a surcharge is applied when the payment is taken, a new invoice item will be generated for the surcharge amount and consolidated with the original invoice.

Once completed
Once the connection process is finished, you’ll see the Tyro tile showing as connected and enabled on the PC you’ll be using to take payments.
On other PCs you will see that the connection has been enabled but not connected.
