After connecting Xero successfully, you need to setup all the Xero Account codes for various data in Pet Manager.
All the codes are pre-populated into Pet Manager from Xero. If you add a new code into Xero and it is not appearing, please click the
button and the new items should be available.
ERROR?
If you get an error at this stage that [Name of Account] does not have an account code, then you may have a bank account or other account in your Xero that does not have an associated account code.
To fix this error go back to your Xero.
In the Accounting menu, select Advanced, then click Chart of accounts.
Click on the account name with the error to edit and add a value for Code. If you see any other accounts in there without a code then add one for those too. The number used for the code is arbitrary and up to you to decide.
Once you have done this try to Resync in Pet Manager again and the account names should sync.
Account Codes
On the first tab are the codes for all the sales items and overpayments.
It is up to you to select the account code where you want these items to appear.
You need to select a value for vouchers, Credit Notes, Bookings, Adjustments and Overpayments.
These will be set to a Sales account for all the sales items and Accounts Receivable for overpayments.
The setting for "enable codes for reports" shows the account code on come of the reports under the reports menu if you want to see that data in the report.
Payment Methods
On the second tab are the codes for all the payment methods. You may wish to allocate these to separate accounts, or to the same bank account as shown below.
Select the account for each items and press the
to save your selection.
Extras Types
The third tab is for Extra Types. If you add new types of extras in the future, you will need to come into this section and allocate a xero account for them to sync to.
Generally you would set these to a Sales account. Again it is entirely up to you as to which account to allocate the line items for these extras to.
You may want to have a separate one for Taxi Pickups and Dropoffs for example.
Stripe
If you have enabled online payments through Stripe on your account, then you will need to setup the accounts associated with utilising that service so its records can transfer effectively over to Xero.
Please see the Stripe Setup guide for more information on the settings required here.
Having added all these settings, you are now ready to start Syncing contacts and data. Please see the next guide for details.
