Sending SMS from View Booking
When you are viewing a booking, you can use the "Send SMS" dropdown to send any of the templated SMSs manually out of Pet Manager.
Simply click on the dropdown arrow and then click on the SMS that you wish to send e.g. "Checkin Reminder".
You will then be taken to the contents of the SMS to be sent. Please note: the items in double curly braces {{name}} are called placeholders and will replace with the customer data and your data before they send.
You can add additional placeholders to the SMS to be sent from the "Insert Placeholder Code" dropdown. This will only afffect this single SMS message. If you want to permanently change the wording for this template, then edit it through Settings > Email Settings & Letter Wording.
Click the "Send Now" button to queue the SMS. The SMS will send on the next run which occurs every 7 minutes. So the maximum time you will wait for the SMS to send will be 7 minutes.
Below is an example of how the SMS will come through on your customer's phone. Notice how the placeholders have been replaced before sending.
Once a message has sent, your credits will go down by how many credits were used to send the SMS. Please note that 1 credit is required for each 160 characters in the SMS. If you go over 160 characters by for example 1 character, you will be charged 2 credits.
You can view how many SMS credits you have remaining at the top of any page in Pet Manager. If you want more details on how many credits a particular SMS used you will need to look at the SMS log which is available as a tab on the bookings and customer screens. See the "SMS Log" section of this documentation for more information.
